Coccinelle reports "parse error" at declarations using compl, including
this fragment of struct scst_lksb in scst/include/scst.h:
BAD:!!!!! struct completion compl;
The parser treats compl as the C++ complement operator even in these C
files. Rename the DLM and SRPT fields and the local target variable to
completion. Update their init, wait and signal sites, as well as the
SRPT field documentation.
This removes the conflicting identifier without adding a parser model.
Types, structure layout and completion lifetimes remain unchanged.
Other unsupported macros can still cause independent parser failures.
The IB/CM and RDMA/CM callers of srpt_cm_req_recv() provide exactly one
connection identifier. Context setup branches on ib_cm_id, while error
cleanup branches on rdma_cm_id. Smatch loses the relationship between
the pointers and reports a possible NULL ib_cm_id dereference.
Select the connection identifier by ib_cm_id in both places and document
the caller contract. This preserves cleanup for both supported paths
and makes the control flow consistent without suppressing diagnostics.
Linux 7.3 changes ib_device_attr.max_sge_rd from int to u32, so min()
rejects its comparison with the signed local max_sge variable.
Store max_sge as u32 to match the channel's max_send_sge, and use
min_t(u32, ...) for the read limit. The explicit comparison type also
supports older kernels where max_sge_rd is signed.
Place interrupt and memory monitors beside the block-device benchmark and
persistent-reservation exerciser. Update the SRPT maintainer instructions
and copyright paths with the move.
The four helpers are byte-for-byte unchanged, including their existing
privilege requirements and device or host side effects.
Keep RPM artifact creation, archive generation, package release preparation
and version updates in one directory. Switch all component archive targets,
the top-level RPM target and the RPM workflow to the relocated helpers.
Point archive generation at the shared source inventory in source/ while
preserving its caller-directory semantics and the existing package inputs.
Move patch generation, specialization, regression, kernel selection and
module signing helpers together, with their shared shell libraries. Update
component Makefiles, CI, nightly jobs, packaging metadata, documentation
and KUnit tooling references alongside the move.
Adjust repository-root and source-inventory lookups for the deeper path.
Resolve rhel-rpm-functions relative to kernel-functions through
BASH_SOURCE, since it is also sourced by the QLogic extraction helpers.
Keep the regression runner behavior and the nightly kernel matrix intact,
including the existing checkpatch, sparse and smatch switches and policy.
Return the failing submake status from the top-level and Debian build
loops instead of turning an early failure into success. Collect and
check the statuses of the parallel iSCSI and SRP cleanup jobs as well.
The generated SRPT documentation still contained commands for the removed
/proc/scsi_tgt interface. The comparison page advertised procfs as an SCST
option and Debian metadata named deleted procfs sources. Remove these stale
references while retaining scstadmin migration support.
Procfs support was removed in 2019, but dead configuration guards,
patch specialization logic and unused declarations remained. Remove these
remnants and simplify paths that can no longer receive procfs-only objects.
The SRPT guides mix current RDMA/CM code with Linux 2.6, procfs and
OFED 1.5 procedures. Their parameter defaults, session names and
tuning advice no longer describe the driver built by this tree.
Commit 020ec68ddc ("ib_srpt: Change default behavior from using SRQ
to not using SRQ") changed receive queues, and commit 434207ab53
("ib_srpt: Restore immediate data support") changed request sizing.
Commit fa58faf95b ("ib_srpt: Add RDMA/CM support") added the IP-based
session naming mode.
Commit 08e532715d ("Remove procfs support") invalidated the in-tree
setup, while commit d6fd03107f ("Split Makefiles: move kernel build
rules into Kbuild files") moved the fault-injection flag.
Commit c2bd2e8bf5 ("ib_srpt: Remove "thread" kernel module parameter and keep thread=1 behavior - the other two modes could cause soft lockup complaints")
made threaded completion unconditional.
Use ib_srpt.c, ib_srpt.h and conftests for current behavior. Scope
SCSI multiqueue advice after Linux commit f664a3cc17b7 ("scsi: kill
off the legacy IO path"), and mark OFED, HA, benchmark and test
recipes as historical or destructive.
SCST spans a kernel core, transport drivers, user-space programs and
configuration tools. Each area has different ABI, build, validation and
safety constraints, but the repository has no persistent guidance for
automated contributors.
Add a root AGENTS.md with cross-component contracts and nested files for
components with independent boundaries. Record authoritative sources,
generated files, compatibility policy and destructive workflows so
changes start from the correct context and avoid live storage state.
Support for the following changes in the Linux kernel v7.0:
- e3b2cf6e5dba ("kernfs: pass struct ns_common instead of
const void * for namespace tags")
This is the result of running the Linux kernel Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci against the SCST tree.
This patch doesn't change any functionality.
Upstream workqueue changes introduce a new WQ_PERCPU flag and plan to
switch alloc_workqueue()'s default from per-CPU to unbound
To kepp SCST behaviour unchanged across kernels, this patch makes all
alloc_workqueue() users explicit about whether they want per-CPU or
unbound queues.
Fix indentation of config option's help text by adding leading spaces.
Generally help text is indented by couple of spaces more beyond the leading
tab <\t> character. It helps Kconfig parsers to read file without error.
-fstack-protector-strong is controlled by the in-tree
CONFIG_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG config option. If the flag is set without
the config option, scst fails to build:
ERROR: modpost: "__stack_chk_fail" [scst/src/scst.ko] undefined!
-fstack-clash-protection is disabled in the kernel's Makefile due to an
incompatibility with randomize_kstack_offset.

Replace combined sysfs_emit() calls with separate sysfs_emit() and
sysfs_emit_at() invocations when emitting SCST_SYSFS_KEY_MARK in sysfs
attribute show handlers.
This improves code clarity and consistency, explicitly handling the
conditional addition of SCST_SYSFS_KEY_MARK.
This patch does not change any functionality.
Replace scnprintf() with sysfs_emit() and sysfs_emit_at() in sysfs show handlers.
These helper functions are specifically designed for sysfs output, providing safer
handling of buffer lengths and consistency across kernel sysfs interfaces.
This patch does not change any functionality.
Replace snprintf() with scnprintf() in two places:
- code paths that build up a buffer incrementally
- sysfs attribute “show” handlers
scnprintf() guarantees its return value is the number of bytes actually
written (never exceeding the buffer), preventing potential overruns.
This patch does not change any functionality.
Replace all uses of sprintf() with scnprintf() in sysfs attribute
callbacks to eliminate the risk of buffer overflows.
This patch does not change any functionality.
strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the
destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear
read overflows if a source string is not NULL-terminated [1].

This patch fixes the installation process for Linux kernels where the
default value of INSTALL_MOD_DIR differs from `extra`.
For instance, it unbreaks `make rpm` against Fedora's kernels, where
INSTALL_MOD_DIR is set to `updates`.
Support for the ib_srpt_target_<n> target port names was removed in 2015.
Update the documentation that still uses this target port name format.
Remove all references to the obsolete ib_srpt kernel module parameters
use_port_guid_in_session_name and use_node_guid_in_target_name. Remove
the references from srpt/README to target port name formats that are no
longer supported.
Change '---help---' into 'help'. See also Linux kernel commit f70f74d15ca8
