Our glossary is stuck in the past, still discussing token ownership in
terms of vnodes and cluster synchronization in terms of gossip.
This patch tries to improve this a bit, although much more work needs to
be done.
The term `Tablet` is added and the definition of `Token` and `Token
Range` is rephrased to be tablet inclusive.
The term `Cluster` is changed to mention raft as the synchronization
mechanism instead of gossip.
One oustanding problem is that our general architecture page describing
the ring acrhitecture is still Vnode only. We have a seprate Tablets
page, but the two don't link to each other and most documentation refer
only to the former. A casual reader might be able to spend a a lot of
time on our documentation page, without even seeing the word: tablets.
Closesscylladb/scylladb#28170
Currently some things are not supported for colocated tables: it's not
possible to repair a colocated table, and due to this it's also not
possible to use the tombstone_gc=repair mode on a colocated table.
Extend the documentation to explain what colocated tables are and
document these restrictions.

We introduce a new term in the glossary: RF-rack-valid keyspace.
We also highlight in our user documentation that all keyspaces
must remain RF-rack-valid throughout their lifetime, and failing
to guarantee that may result in data inconsistencies or other
issues. We base that information on our experience with materialized
views in keyspaces using tablets, even though they remain
an experimental feature.
Along with the new term, we introduce a new configuration option
called `rf_rack_valid_keyspaces`, which, when enabled, will enforce
preserving all keyspaces RF-rack-valid. That functionality will be
implemented in upcoming commits. For now, we materialize the
restriction in form of a named requirement: a function verifying
that the passed keyspace is RF-rack-valid.
The option is disabled by default. That will change once we adjust
the existing tests to the new semantics. Once that is done, the option
will first be enabled by default, and then it will be removed.
Fixesscylladb/scylladb#20356
This commit moves the Features page from the section for developers
to the top level in the page tree. This involves:
- Moving the source files to the *features* folder from the *using-scylla* folder.
- Moving images into *features/images* folder.
- Updating references to the moved resources.
- Adding redirections to the moved pages.
Closesscylladb/scylladb#20401
- Adds type for each option.
- Filters out unused / invalid values, moves them to a separate section.
- Adds the term "liveness" to the glossary.
- Removes unused and invalid properties from the docs.
- Updates to the latest version of pyaml.
docs: rename config template directive
Closes#15164
This commit moves the Glossary page to the Reference
section. In addition, it adds the redirection so that
there are no broken links because of this change
and fixes a link to a subsection of Glossary.
