To reduce test executable size and speed up compilation time, compile unit
tests into a single executable.
Here is a file size comparison of the unit test executable:
- Before applying the patch
$ du -h --exclude='*.o' --exclude='*.o.d' build/release/test/boost/ build/debug/test/boost/
11G build/release/test/boost/
29G build/debug/test/boost/
- After applying the patch
du -h --exclude='*.o' --exclude='*.o.d' build/release/test/boost/ build/debug/test/boost/
5.5G build/release/test/boost/
19G build/debug/test/boost/
It reduces executable sizes 5.5GB on release, and 10GB on debug.

so let's take the opportunity to switch from `boost::irange` to
`std::views::iota`.
in this change, we:
- switch from boost::irange to std::views::iota for better standard library compatibility
- retain boost::irange where step parameter is used, as std::views::iota doesn't support it
- this change partially modernizes our range usage while maintaining
- existing functionality

Most callers of the raft group0 client interface are passing a real
source instance, so we can use the abort source reference in the client
interface. This change makes the code simpler and more consistent.
This description is readable from raft log table.
Previously single description was provided for the whole
announce call but since it can contain mutations from
various subsystems now description was moved to
add_mutation(s)/add_generator function calls.
To achieve write atomicity across different tables we need to announce
mutations in a single transaction. So instead of each function doing
a separate announce we need to collect mutations and announce them once
at the end.
before this change, we rely on the default-generated fmt::formatter
created from operator<<, but fmt v10 dropped the default-generated
formatter.
in this change, we include `fmt/ranges.h` and/or `fmt/std.h`
for formatting the container types, like vector, map
optional and variant using {fmt} instead of the homebrew
formatter based on operator<<.
with this change, the changes adding fmt::formatter and
the changes using ostream formatter explicitly, we are
allowed to drop `FMT_DEPRECATED_OSTREAM` macro.

Code that executed only when consistent_cluster_management=false is
removed. In particular, after this patch:
- raft_group0 and raft_group_registry are always enabled,
- raft_group0::status_for_monitoring::disabled becomes unused,
- topology tests can only run with consistent_cluster_management.
In 10c1f1dc80 I fixed
`make_group0_history_state_id_mutation` to use correct timestamp
resolution (microseconds instead of milliseconds) which was supposed to
fix the flakiness of `test_group0_history_clearing_old_entries`.
Unfortunately, the test is still flaky, although now it's failing at a
later step -- this is because I was sloppy and I didn't adjust this
second part of the test to also use microsecond resolution. The test is
counting the number of entries in the `system.group0_history` table that
are older than a certain timestamp, but it's doing the counting using
millisecond resolution, causing it to give results that are off by one
sometimes.
Fix it by using microseconds everywhere.

As described in https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/8638,
we're moving away from `SimpleStrategy`, in the future
it will become deprecated.
We should remove all uses of it and replace them
with `NetworkTopologyStrategy`.
This change replaces `SimpleStrategy` with
`NetworkTopologyStrategy` in all unit tests,
or at least in the ones where it was reasonable to do so.
Some of the tests were written explicitly to test the
`SimpleStrategy` strategy, or changing the keyspace from
`SimpleStrategy` to `NetworkTopologyStrategy`.
These tests were left intact.
It's still a feature that is supported,
even if it's slowly getting deprecated.
The typical way to use `NetworkTopologyStrategy` is
to specify a replication factor for each datacenter.
This could be a bit cumbersome, we would have to fetch
the list of datacenters, set the repfactors, etc.
Luckily there is another way - we can just specify
a replication factor to use for or each existing
datacenter, like this:
```cql
CREATE KEYSPACE {} WITH REPLICATION =
{'class' : 'NetworkTopologyStrategy', 'replication_factor' : 1};
```
This makes the change rather straightforward - just replace all
instances of `'SimpleStrategy'', with `'NetworkTopologyStrategy'`.

Closes#13990
The expression system uses managed_bytes_opt for values, but result_set
uses bytes_opt. This means that processing values from the result set
in expressions requires a copy.
Out of the two, managed_bytes_opt is the better choice, since it prevents
large contiguous allocations for large blobs. So we switch result_set
to use managed_bytes_opt. Users of the result_set API are adjusted.
The db::function interface is not modified to limit churn; instead we
convert the types on entry and exit. This will be adjusted in a following
patch.
We have enabled the command line options without changing a
single line of code, we only had to replace old include
with scylla_test_case.hh.
Next step is to add x-log-compaction-groups options, which will
determine the number of compaction groups to be used by all
instantiations of replica::table.

Writing into the group0 raft group on a client side involves locking
the state machine, choosing a state id and checking for its presence
after operation completes. The code that does it resides now in the
migration manager since the currently it is the only user of group0. In
the near future we will have more client for group0 and they all will
have to have the same logic, so the patch moves it to a separate class
raft_group0_client that any future user of group0 can use to write
into it.

Check that group 0 history grows iff a schema change does not throw
`group0_concurrent_modification`. Check that the CQL DDL statement retry
mechanism works as expected.
We perform a bunch of schema changes with different values of
`migration_manager::_group0_history_gc_duration` and check if entries
are cleared according to this setting.
