delayed_tasks has a bug that if the object is destroyed while a timer callback is queued, the callback will then try to access freed memory. This could be fixed by providing a stop() function that waits for pending callbacks, but we can just replace the whole thing by levering the abort_source-enabled exponential_backoff_retry.
