Avoid snprintf

* gnulib.modules: Remove snprintf.
* lib/wordsplit.c (wordsplit_pathexpand):
Do not arbitrarily truncate diagnostic.
(wordsplit_c_quote_copy): Rewrite to avoid the need to
invoke snprintf on a temporary buffer.
