Optimize memory usage changing types of driver_name and driver_version be
a reference to a cached value instead of an sstring.
These fields very often have the same value among different connections hence
it makes sense to cache these values and use references to them instead of duplicating
such strings in each connection state.

This new column is going to contain all OPTIONS sent in the
STARTUP frame of the corresponding CQL session.
The new column has a `frozen<map<text, text>>` type, and
we are also optimizing the amount of required memory for storing
corresponding keys and values by caching them on each shard level.

get_client_data() is used to assemble `client_data` objects from each connection
on each CPU in the context of generation of the `system.clients` virtual table data.
After collected, `client_data` objects were std::moved and arranged into a
different structure to match the table's sorting requirements.
This didn't allow having not-cross-shard-movable objects as fields in the `client_data`,
e.g. lw_shared_ptr objects.
Since we are planning to add such fields to `client_data` in following patches this patch
is solving the limitation above by making get_client_data() return `foreign_ptr<std::unique_ptr<client_data>>`
objects instead of naked `client_data` ones.

Every table and sstable set keeps track of the total file size
of contained sstables.
Due to a feature request, we also want to keep track of the hypothetical
file size if Data files were uncompressed, to add a metric that
shows the compression ratio of sstables.
We achieve this by replacing the relevant `uint_64 bytes_on_disk`
counters everywhere with a struct that contains both the actual
(post-compression) size and the hypothetical pre-compression size.
This patch isn't supposed to change any observable behavior.
In the next patch, we will use these changes to add a new metric.
use utils::chunked_vector instead of std::vector to store cdc stream
sets for tablets.
a cdc stream set usually represents all streams for a specific table and
timestamp, and has a stream id per each tablet of the table. each stream
id is represented by 16 bytes. thus the vector could require quite large
contiguous allocations for a table that has many tablets. change it to
chunked_vector to avoid large contiguous allocations.

Define two new virtual tables in system keyspace: cdc_timestamps and
cdc_streams. They expose the internal cdc metadata for tablets-enabled
keyspace to be consumed by users consuming the CDC log.
cdc_timestamps lists all timestamps for a table where a stream change
occured.
cdc_streams list additionally the current streams sets for each
table and timestamp, as well as difference - closed and opened streams -
from the previous stream set.

Can be used to query per-node stats about load as seen by the load
balancer.
In particular, node's capacity will be used by tablet-mon.py to
scale tablet columns so that equal height is equal node utilization.
This patch changes gossiper to index nodes by host ids instead of ips.
The main data structure that changes is _endpoint_state_map, but this
results in a lot of changes since everything that uses the map directly
or indirectly has to be changed. The big victim of this outside of the
gossiper itself is topology over gossiper code. It works on IPs and
assumes the gossiper does the same and both need to be changed together.
Changes to other subsystems are much smaller since they already mostly
work on host ids anyway.
This commit eliminates unused boost header includes from the tree.
Removing these unnecessary includes reduces dependencies on the
external Boost.Adapters library, leading to faster compile times
and a slightly cleaner codebase.

Schema of system tables is defined statically and table_schema_version needs to be explicitly set in code like this:
```
builder.with_version(system_keyspace::generate_schema_version(table_id, version_offset));
```
Whenever schema is changed, the schema version needs to change, otherwise we hit undefined behavior when trying to interpret mutation data created with the old schema using the new schema.
It's not obvious that one needs to do that and developers often forget to do that. There were several instances of mistakes of omission, some caught during review, some not, e.g.: 31ea74b96e.
This patch changes definitions to call the new `schema_builder::with_hash_version()`, which will make the schema builder compute version from schema definition so that changes of the schema will automatically change the version. This way we no longer rely on the developer to remember to bump the version offset.
All nodes should arrive at the same version, which is verified by existing `test_group0_schema_versioning` and a new unit test: `test_system_schema_version_is_stable`.

compatibility when seastar was extracted into a separate library.
so log.hh should belong to `utils` directory, as it is based solely

in this change, we move log.hh into utils/log.hh to that it is more
modularized. and this also improves the readability, when one see

As the first clustering column. For vnode keyspaces, this will always be
"ALL", for tablet keyspaces, this will contain the name of the described
table.
Into a separate method. For vnodes there is a single ring per keyspace,
but for tablets, there is a separate ring for each table in the
keyspace. To accomodate both, we move the code emitting the ring into a
separate method, so execute() can just call it once per keyspace or once
per table, whichever appropriate.
Virtual tables are kept in a thread_local registry for deduplication
purposes. The problem is that thread_local variables are destroyed late,
possibly after the schema registry and the reactor are destroyed.
Currently this isn't a problem, but after a seastar change to
destroy the reactor after termination [1], things break.
Fix by moving the registry to system_keyspace. system_keyspace was chosen
since it was the birthplace of virtual tables.
Pimpl is used to avoid increasing dependencies.

In this commit we change the return type of
storage_service::get_token_metadata_ptr() to
token_metadata2_ptr and fix whatever breaks.
All the boost and topology tests pass with this change.
We want to switch system.scylla_local table to the
schema commitlog, but load phases hamper here - schema
commitlog is initialized after phase1,
so a table which is using it should be moved to phase2,
but system.scylla_local contains features, and we need
them before schema commitlog initialization for
SCHEMA_COMMITLOG feature.
In this commit we are taking a different approach to
loading system tables. First, we load them all in
one pass in 'readonly' mode. In this mode, the table
cannot be written to and has not yet been assigned
a commit log. To achieve this we've added _readonly bool field
to the table class, it's initialized to true in table's
constructor. In addition, we changed the table constructor
to always assign nullptr to commitlog, and we trigger
an internal error if table.commitlog() property is accessed
while the table is in readonly mode. Then, after
triggering on_system_tables_loaded notifications on
feature_service and sstable_format_selector, we call
system_keyspace::mark_writable and eventually
table::mark_ready_for_writes which selects the
proper commitlog and marks the table as writable.
In sstable_compaction_test we drop several
mark_ready_for_writes calls since they are redundant,
the table has already been made writable in
env.make_table_for_tests call.
The table::commitlog function either returns the current
commitlog or causes an error if the table is readonly. This
didn't work for virtual tables, since they never called
mark_ready_for_writes. In this commit we add this
call to initialize_virtual_tables.
This is a readability refactoring commit without observable changes
in behaviour.
initialize_virtual_tables logically belongs to virtual_tables module,
and it allows to make other functions in virtual_tables.cc
(register_virtual_tables, install_virtual_readers)
local to the module, which simplifies the matters a bit.
all_virtual_tables() is not needed anymore, all the references to
registered virtual tables are now local to virtual_tables module
and can just use virtual_tables variable directly.
